It's a bit flow-charty, so I don't know how "easy" this will be to play, but my intent is for this AI to closely resemble the board presence and resource-consumption of a human player. By now I was aware of George and I don't think I could make a better priority system, so I have Victoria "contract" with him to obtain resources ( Credit). When I first started I tried to "simplify" it with a common "AI doesn't use resources" rule, but I eventually realized that cannot work in a game where resource consumption is half the game. What distinguishes the VictoriAI from George and Mautoma is that there is no dice randomness, and requires no extra cards because it uses the cards from a standard two-player game. I tried tweaking the OP idea of a single-player mode and then moved to the AI suggestion by Ozzz, which is the foundation from which I developed my final version. Dont give anybody free iron if you dont have to in the canal era. If you are going to put a canal down for points, try to make it worth at least 5 VPs. The less you lay canals, the more actions you have to develop for more points and economy later. My first stop was to look at variants for original Brass, and I found this thread. Try to lay as few canals down as possible in the canal era. When I got this game from the Kickstarter I was so excited to play the beautiful deluxe version, but I don't have a regular game group so I needed to figure out a way to play solo (this was before the George variant was published). I don't know if there is much demand for a third alternative solo mode for Brass: Birmingham, but this is something I've semi-seriously worked on for a couple years and I wanted to finally finish it.
